Rosanne Bachman CPCU - Director

Experience
The 24 years Rosanne has spent in the Insurance Industry has taken her around the world from Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Hong Kong, London, Germany and back to London. She has 17 years of Property and Casualty experience with two major primary insurers, plus, most recently, 7 years in a senior Casualty role for a leading reinsurer. During 18 of her 24 years in the industry,
she held management positions including regional roles for Asia, and Europe/UK/Middle East/South Africa.

Expertise
Rosanne's area of expertise is out-of-the-box solutions. She holds a unique combination of
technical expertise and highly creative communication, marketing, leadership and motivational skills. Emphasis in the Insurance industry today is on the technical skills or the Science of Underwriting. However, to be in the best position to face the future, that science needs to be supported by the Art of Underwriting, Communication and Marketing.

The environment of risk has changed and looks set to continue to change at a rapid pace. Underwriting vision needs to move from a reactionary vision to an anticipatory vision. There are, however, skills needed aside from underwriting to face the challenges of today's and tomorrow's risk environment. Insurers need an effective method of messaging and a clear message to deliver. Every communication with a client should be thought of as an advert, a reinforcing message of who you are and why you deserve their best business. Bringing all these pieces together builds an image. That image reinforces how insurers differentiate their underwriting, underwriters and company.

Differentiating yourself from the competition fosters a sustainable competitive advantage and a better position in the marketplace.

WHAT'S IN A NAME?

Whether you call it a Pinwheel (American English), a Wind Mill (UK English), a Windrad (German) or a Girondola (Italian), the company name comes from the toy that children play with at the beach, or a decoration you might find in a garden. The pinwheel symbolises what PinwheelConsulting can help companies achieve. If you take a pinwheel and shift its position, it begins to
spin around as it catches the wind. As you keep adjusting the pinwheel to catch the wind, eventually you will find the position where it spins steadily.

Rosanne has been doing public speaking since 1994. She is a dynamic speaker that
strives to leave the audience with something to think about. She looks for creative ways to help people "see" what she is saying. She draws analogies from everyday life to help people understand issues. An example would be using the topic of Football and correlating the difference between American Football and Football to help people understand the US legal system.

RISK MANAGED ACCOUNTS
Pinwheel Consulting can offer:
A programme that looks at how risk has changed as well as how loss patterns have changed and will continue to change around the world. Followed by facilitating a meeting to assist you in reviewing your current and future exposures using exercises such as:

•Disaster Trees - What are the knock on effects of a loss?
•Correlating Uncorrelated Events - Are there other related/unrelated loss scenarios you can take lessons from?
•Review of precursor events.
The purpose is to give people a broader view of risk beyond their departmental/regional
